Would appreciate feedback on level of how compelling this 4 min promo
is for a longer Marketing training DVD. On scale of 1 to 10 with 10
being highest, how do members of MBMM feel about this video. What's
good? What's bad? What's missing? Thanks. GW

I'd rank it as a 1. However, I'm hesitant to give you my take on it
since if you were really good at marketing, you wouldn't need it.
After all, you are presenting yourself as a marketing expert. But
what the Hell. Maybe I can educate you on marketing so you can at
least do as little damage as possible.

Who is the old fart in the video? What is his credentials for telling
me anything? If he is a professor of marketing, please take him out
back and put a bullet through his head. Honestly. You will be doing
everyone a favor.

Get an actual professional marketer to do the video for you. A VP of
Marketing, CMO (Chief Marketing Officer), Director of Marketing, etc.
Not only that but of a major corporation and him having been such for
at least ten years. Start right off having him introduce himself and
his credentials. Film this intro in his office. Show his company's
headquarters. Show their corporate logo. It answers the question,
"Why the Hell should I listen to you?"

Do not have the moron be shown turning to the side to see what next to
say. The amateur production level of that is as low as you can get.

Kill the music. That music will put people to sleep and says your
video is boring.

The person talking is of no importance. Show as little as possible.

Do not use a power point presentation for your video. Cheap,
amateurish, and boring.

Do not try to educate in a promotion video. Try to persuade why one
should buy your DVD.

Video is a visual medium. Think visually. How can you make it more
visually engaging. Don't just tell. Show and tell. Not with power
point but with actors and actresses, different settings, and so forth.

And if what was said in that 4-minute clip represents the best of the
longer video, trash it. Don't put out this drivel.

For this video to be taken seriously, the one presenting it must
establish their credentials. Since it is you in the video, that means
you must. Doing so does promote yourself but that's besides the
point.

From my own personal point of view, I didn't find the rest of the
website compelling enough to connect with the video. Also, the music
sounded louder than the spoken words. Overall I give it a 3.
